CHURCHES WE PRAYED FOR
Every week during our gatherings we intentionally pray for a number of churches at Grace City, in our city, in our region, and in our world. This last week we prayed for:
- Grace City Church of Wissinoming as well as asking God to work through our work in the neighborhoods of Frankford and Mayfair.
- Seven Mile Road Church in the Far Northeast.
- Christ Church in South Philly. They are a partner church in Sovereign Grace.
- Grace Church in Bristol, England. They are a partner church in Sovereign Grace
As you read, stop and pray for the spread of the gospel in these churches and their cities.
PARENTING & THE GOSPEL
Join us on Saturday, September 9th, from 9AM-3PM for a free one-day parenting seminar featuring Marty Machowski, Pastor for Community & Care at Covenant Fellowship Church and author of several books and curriculum for children and families and churches. During Parenting & the Gospel, Marty will be teaching sessions with topics for parents of children from toddler to high school age.
Childcare will not be provided for this event, but a space for nursing mothers will be available.
A continental breakfast will be provided, and there will be a break for off-site lunch at nearby restaurants.
There is no cost for this event. Please register below or on a Sunday at Grace City Church of the Northeast.
FAMILY DEDICATION SUNDAY
Our annual Family Dedication Sunday will be taking place at our gathering on September 10th. We wanted to pass along this date because we know that many of you who plan on participating in the dedications this year may want to invite your extended family to join us in this celebration of new life that God has given in the past year. If you wish to have your family participate, please sign up at the Information & Resource table on an upcoming Sunday.
ESL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We have an ESL opportunity for you to help reach the nations right here in Northeast Philly! GROW Northeast is an organization that serves our growing international community through a fun and effective ESL program for adults, helping our neighbors and friends to become more proficient in the English language and be prepared for U.S. citizenship. There are now two sites in Northeast Philly, one in Mayfair at Northeast Community Church and one in Fox Chase at Bethany Baptist Church. We have had several people from our church help with ESL classes through GROW over the past few years, and they need more volunteer teachers, teacher assistants, and children’s workers at the Mayfair Site for this coming semester. There are classes on Monday and Wednesday nights, as well as Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings. See Sue DeHart on an upcoming Sunday or email her at email@example.com if you’re interested in volunteering or want to learn more. You can also click the button below for more information about GROW Northeast. Classes start September 13th!
